Interior Book Design and Layout

When a potential buyer opens your book to look inside, they should be drawn in and want to read more. Many years of book design experience and knowledge of typography have taught me to create attractive pages that complement any topic in a compelling layout.

I will discuss your book thoroughly with you so I understand what you envision before I begin. I take into consideration your cover design if you have one, the genre, target audience, page count, and a myriad of other details to choose the colors, fonts, and layout that convey the perfect look and feel for your book, whether it is digital, paperback, or hard cover.

I begin with a mockup that includes appropriately designed chapter openings, headers, footers, and other graphic elements included in your book. Once you approve the design I lay out the book with your edited manuscript and send you your first proof of the complete book. At that point you will let me know if anything has to be revised before I create your final pdf, tailored to the specifications of your chosen printer.

I can also create epub or pdf versions of your book for ibooks, kindle, or other digital outlets. Your ebook will be properly formatted to ensure a seamless reading experience.

Pricing

Every book is unique in its own way. The pages may have text only or they may be highly visual with lots of images and specialized typography, and the book could be 24 pages or 500+ pages, but most fall somewhere in between. Before giving an estimate, I have a consultation with every author and look closely at their manuscript to be sure I have a thorough understanding of their needs. This helps me to quote the most reasonable price possible to create a design that best represents the book, reaches your target market, and maximizes sales.
