About Michelle

I began my graphic design career in a small-town Wisconsin mom-and-pop print shop. That was back when the Macintosh

desktop publishing computer was the newest, greatest innovation. The tiny 8.5-inch black and white screen was an amazing, time-saving replacement for the old Compugraphic typesetter. This little 512K workhorse launched a revolution in graphic design along with my career.

Following my love of words, books, and learning, my career evolved from general design to textbooks, to trade books, then to ebooks. I live and work in South Florida and provide designs to clients all over the world. I give them personal service with high standards of design and typography. I work hard to bring out the unique personality of each book, making sure it is recognizable as its genre but is unique enough to attract attention. My designs fit in and stand out.

In addition to book design, I have put my passion for literature and history into publishing Keynote Classics™. These are newly published original texts with added footnotes and an Introductory Key that helps students and casual readers to enjoy sometimes challenging books and to get a little more out of the book than what is on the surface of the story. Historical research puts the novel into perspective and introduces the author. The paperback versions have wide margins for note-taking to help students get more from their reading experience and remember, discuss, or write more confidently about classic literature. As a book designer and forest lover, I am concerned about the impact of book printing on the environment. The industry uses a tremendous amount of water and wood pulp in the manufacture of books. But forests are necessary to sequester carbon, regulate global temperatures, anchor soil, and act as flood barriers. I am committed to giving a portion of profits to organizations like Eden Reforestation Projects, who work to plant, protect, and restore this crucial resource.

Client Reviews

I have to say that seeing the whole book professionally laid out brought tears to my eyes!

I can't believe my 20-year-old concept of I've gotta write a book about this one day

and all the love I've poured into it since is about to become a reality.
The two of you have done an amazing job of capturing my sentiment

and this is truly a dream come true. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Rick Davis, author of The Furnace of Leadership Development

First of all I would like say that I am an artist, storyteller, kindergarten teacher. The publishing part of my book writing is very intimidating to me. Michelle made it easy. She did an excellent job formatting and editing my fifth book without making me feel like the village idiot. I was especially impressed with her professional and communication skills. I trust her completely and will definitely use for my next story.

Patty Gannon, author of Desdemona and Little d

Michelle was a pleasure to work with. She was flexible, competent, attentive to details, and highly professional in all aspects of her work. I worked with her on three books both in print, kindle, and ebook formats and she is my "go to" person for any additional publishing work I plan to do. Because of Michelle's attention to detail, my work is better for having had her on my team and I highly recommend her to anyone who wants a professionally done job.

Great work done by this Guru. Five stars across the board. Worked with me patiently since this was my first book. Her input was extremely helpful. Her design creativity was perfect.

Joseph Blomer, Living the Single Life

We got lucky when we found MMW because not only is she an excellent person for InDesign she also did photo research. MMW is a women of many talents. She has a history degree and has been making fantastic timelines for us that requires knowledge of history. The creativity and balance really made it a standout. She recently knew we had a tight deadline and went in full on to give an outstanding effort. That is the work ethic I wish the next generation to look up to. Well done Michelle.
